Changes Rust Into an Inert, Protective Coating.  This Rust Converter is Compatible with our Bestselling RP-342.

This aerosol surface conditioner and primer changes existing surface rust into an inert protective polymeric coating that seals out moisture and prevents future rust and corrosion from forming.  It also provides an excellent primer coating on rusty steel and iron surfaces.  Once fully cured, the converted surface can then be painted over with paint or our bestselling RP-342 ("Heavy" or "Black") for longer-term protection.  The converted surfaces can resist the effects of the weather without peeling or cracking.
For heavily rusted surfaces (pitted, flaking, etc.), we recommend some initial physical method of rust removal, e.g.  using a wire brush, sander or power washer.  Removing any existing surface rust that you're willing able to remove physically is always a great start (but not required) prior to applying Rust Converter.

APPLICATION:

Surface to be treated should be free of grease, oil and loose particles and dirt.  RUST CONVERTER can be sprayed, brushed or rolled onto light to moderately rusted surfaces.  Second application (if needed) can be made after 24 hours.  Application equipment can be cleaned with soap and water or most over-the-counter petroleum solvents.  Estimated coverage is dependent on metal condition and number of coatings.  Theoretical coverage is approximately 30-40 square feet per aerosol can.
